The little girl and the lamb

Well, no further on the Baktus... so, sadly no knitting pics today. I should have some spinning pics but I got lazy and didnt get round to it.

However, this is not to say we havn't been busy. We butchered a lamb today.... we turned this....

into these ...

...manageable portions of lovely fresh lamb. We also made haggis, i miss haggis an awful lot and the only way to get it here really is to make it for yourself, so we did.

mixed meat and spice

and toasted oatmeal

which we then put into portion sized sausage links (rather than in the traditional sheep's stomach). I think that the mini-haggis dont look bad for an amateur.

My little girl was hitched in her little walker to keep her occupied while we worked. At one point I thought she seemed particularly quiet....

Yup.... she was sound asleep, with the musical keyboard and flashing lights going off... she just slept on....

I got video footage of her too, it made me laugh so much to see her.

OH MY GOSH! That is darling! (The babe, not the lamb).

So haggis . . . are you Scottish? Did we already talk about that? I am a typical American mutt - but on my dad's side - there is a wee bit of Scott - he plays the bagpipes, though. . . that's something.

She's just too cute-LOL! Mine used to fall asleep like that too...

You've done well on the lamb! How do you make haggis? I make sausages every year out of lambs meat and some pork, and stuff it like you do, but one of our neighbours still use the sheeps stomack to do so...

Thats' so funny - I had two terrible sleepers so I am always quite in wonderment at a child who can fall asleep in places - that's so sweet! Your big old cauldron of boiling fleece made me laugh - my mother used to unroll great stinking fleeces down the length of our hallway and we would pick the s**t off them!
Thanks so much for the comment you left on my blog - nice to meet you! Come by again soon, and I am going to have a good poke around your blog too

I love the spinning (wheel and yarn), the lamb (whole and butchered) and I love, most of all, the growing Rafaela.
Thank you for having an Oz Granny pic where I co-star with my precious little granddaughter.
